Yesterday at Whitchurch Sports and Social Club, the festive spirit truly came alive in the best possible way.
Our Christmas decoration making and Santa visit turned into a roaring success, bringing together families, friends, and plenty of Christmas cheer.
From the moment the doors opened, the club was buzzing with excitement.
Children rushed to the craft tables, parents caught up over drinks, and the sound of laughter filled every corner of the room.
A Bigger Turnout Than We Ever Expected
We hoped for a good turnout. What we welcomed was something even more special.
Families arrived steadily throughout the afternoon, and before we knew it, every table was full. In fact, so many children joined us that we completely ran out of presents.
While that surprised us, it also showed just how much these community events matter. The best part was seeing how unfazed the children were, because the fun never stopped.
Craft Tables Bursting with Creativity โ๏ธโจ
The decoration-making tables stayed busy from start to finish. Children carefully designed baubles, festive cards, and colourful decorations to take home or hang proudly on the tree.
Some kids took their time, concentrating hard on every detail.
Others finished quickly and came back for more, keen to try different designs and colours.
Crafting moments like these give children a chance to express themselves. They also create memories families will talk about long after Christmas is over.
Many parents where thrilled at their kids enjoyment, with one saying:
โSeeing the kidsโ faces light up while crafting and meeting Santa was just magical โ we canโt wait to come back next year!โ

Santa Arrivedโฆ and Everything Changed ๐
The moment Santa walked into the room, the atmosphere lifted instantly.
Excited whispers spread, and wide smiles appeared as children spotted him.

Each child had time to say hello, share their Christmas wishes, and pose for photos.
Parents captured those moments, and we managed to snap plenty ourselves to share later.
Simple crafting activities help children build confidence and fine motor skills. Seeing so many children enjoying crafts reminded us how much kids love hands-on creativity. Itโs something thatโs easy to encourage all year round with things we can have at home.
These little touches help make events feel magical, especially for younger visitors.
As If Having Santa Wasnโt Special Enoughโฆ ๐ ๐ฅ
As if having Santa himself as a special guest wasnโt enough, we also had a visit from a real-life YouTuber.
Elsie, an up-and-coming creator with over 3.8k subscribers, joined us for the afternoon to soak up the festive fun.
No filming, no cameras, and no pressure โ just crafts, smiles, and plenty of dancing like everyone else.
It was great to see young creativity in action, even without the YouTube side switched on.
From decoration making to disco moves, Elsie had a whale of a time, just like the rest of the kids.

Events like this show what the club is all about.
Whether youโre five or fifty, a YouTuber or just here for a drink, everyoneโs welcome.
And who knowsโฆ maybe one day Whitchurch Club will make a surprise appearance on YouTube ๐ฌโจ
Disco Energy That Kept Everyone Entertained ๐บ๐
Once the crafts wrapped up, the disco took over and kept the energy high.
Music filled the room, children danced freely, and the smiles never seemed to fade.
Parents enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere while the kids burned off some energy. It was exactly the kind of festive fun we love to see at the club.
Simple party touches like glow sticks, light-up accessories, or reusable decorations can help recreate that fun atmosphere for birthdays and family celebrations.
And Tonightโฆ The Festive Fun Continues ๐ค๐ถ
If you missed out yesterday, thereโs no need to worry.
Tonight weโre back with Disco and Karaoke, and everyone is welcome.
Whether you want to sing your heart out, dance with friends, or simply enjoy a drink in good company, the club is the place to be.
Pop down, soak up the atmosphere, and keep the Christmas celebrations going.
Yesterday reminded us why community events matter so much.
When Whitchurch comes together, it really does create something special.
Before we wrap up, a quick festive reminder. Weโre open on Christmas Day from 12 midday to 2pm, so feel free to pop in, raise a glass, and enjoy a relaxed moment with friends and neighbours.
