The FIFA World Cup has given us some unforgettable moments over the past few weeks, and England signed off their campaign in spectacular fashion with a thrilling 6-4 victory over France to secure third place.
While the football has now come to an end for England, the tournament has been about much more than what happened on the pitch.
Here at Whitchurch Sports & Social Club, it brought people together, introduced new visitors to the club and created a fantastic atmosphere that we’ll remember for a long time.
Most importantly, we’d like to say thank you to everyone who came along and supported our World Cup screenings.
A Fantastic Atmosphere From Start to Finish
From England’s opening match to the final whistle against France, the Events Hall was filled with excitement.
Families, friends, regular members and first-time visitors all came together to enjoy every goal, every celebration and every dramatic moment on our giant 20ft screen.
The atmosphere throughout the tournament was fantastic and it was brilliant to see so many people enjoying live football together.

One of the biggest successes of the tournament wasn’t just what happened on the pitch.
The World Cup introduced many new people to Whitchurch Sports & Social Club.
